Product & assessment
- Who is Movement Pod for?
- Owner-led, coaching-first gyms that already sell PT or specialty classes and can run 10+ assessments per month. Pilot launching in western PA and eastern Ohio in 2026 H2.
- How is Movement Pod different from FMS, MyZone, or a coach's eye?
- Objective 10-minute protocol (47 metrics, 14 steps) instead of subjective visual assessment. Scores movement quality, not fitness level. No per-session cost, comparable equipment spend.
- What does the assessment measure?
- Movement quality, capacity, and control — 47 scoring metrics across 14 steps. We give a Movement Score (0–100), 2–3 focus areas, and one clear program recommendation.
- How long does an assessment take?
- About 10 minutes at the Pod. Add 5–10 minutes for coach debrief and program recommendation. Total member time: roughly 15–20 minutes.
- What programs does it recommend?
- Programs matched to focus areas, e.g. 6-Week Lower-Body Stability, 4-Week Walk/Run Tune-Up, Core & Posture Class, 4-Week Landing & Impact Control. You deliver, we recommend.
Pricing & terms
- Do you charge per assessment?
- No. Unlimited assessments are included with your SaaS subscription on both Option A and Option B. Your gym may charge members what you like (Free–$79 is typical).
- What's the satisfaction guarantee?
- Option A (upfront) includes a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with results, we make it right per documented terms. Option B (monthly) does not include a guarantee.
- What is the price difference between Option A and Option B?
- Option A: $5,000 hardware + $100/mo SaaS (12-mo min) with guarantee. Option B: $350/mo for 24 months, then $100/mo — no upfront, no guarantee.
Data & privacy
- Where is member data stored?
- On the Pod. Assessments run and score entirely on the kiosk — no internet required. Member data stays local. Optional anonymized usage analytics can be disabled.
- Is Movement Pod a medical device?
- No. Movement Pod scores movement quality for coaching purposes only. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, does not predict injury, and is not a substitute for medical advice.
- How do I opt out of marketing communications?
- Email info@piper.tech, click 'unsubscribe' in any marketing email, or use the 'Do Not Sell or Share' link in our footer. We honor opt-outs within 10 business days.
Setup & operations
- What's included beyond the hardware?
- Unlimited assessments, coach talking-point scripts, PT conversion checklist, member take-home kit, ROI worksheet, and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee on Option A.
- What hardware is included?
- Movement Pod is an in-gym kiosk: mini PC, touchscreen monitor, and cameras. Not an app or mobile product. Setup is handled by Piper Tech LLC.
- How long does it take to install and train staff?
- Install is one half-day on site. Coach training is a 2-hour session plus a printed talking-points guide. Most gyms run their first paid assessment within a week.
Meridian & Forge
- Can I buy just Meridian, or just Forge?
- No. A Movement Pod is one hardware unit that runs both Meridian (10-minute movement assessment) and Forge (split-pane lift replay for squat-rack and open-floor work). The hardware is purchased once; both products are included.
- Is Forge always running in the background?
- No. Forge is started at the kiosk when someone wants a lift session — anyone, anytime — on the same Pod hardware. Meridian assessments and Forge sessions do not run at the same time on the same Pod.
- Does Forge use the 6-week re-test?
- No. The 4–8 week re-test ritual is Meridian-only. Forge replay is anytime — compare reps from today, last week, or last month without waiting for a scheduled re-scan.
- Do I need both Meridian and Forge to get the projected ROI in your calculator?
- No. The /calculator currently models Meridian-only (new-member-to-PT conversion). Forge-driven retention adds upside not included in the calculator's mid-case projection.
- Which one do most gyms adopt first?
- Meridian first. New-member-to-PT conversion is the highest-leverage Pod use case for an owner-led gym, and Meridian-only ROI typically justifies the install. Forge usage grows as PT volume grows.
- What lifts does Forge cover?
- Squat-rack lifts: squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press, row, pull-up. Open-floor work: lunge, bodyweight movements, walking, and running. Same five-camera Pod hardware for all of them.
- Does Forge replace a coach's eye?
- No. Forge supports lifters and coaches with split-pane replay (camera + 3D skeleton). It does not replace human coaching judgment — it gives you an objective replay you can scrub rep-by-rep.
